SCOPE Apparatus confined to age the thermoplastic polymers at specified temperature for specified duration. Temperature can be observed and adjust through digital indicator cum controller.
SIGNIFICANCE Thermoplastic and elastomeric insulation and sheath exposed to heat are subjected to many types of physical and chemical changes. The severity of exposures, in both time and temperature, determines the extent and type of change that takes place. The ageing makes an assessment of change in properties of materials on subjecting them to ageing in air. Such type of ageing does not predict the thermal ageing characteristics together with interaction of mechanical and electrical stresses, environmental ageing.
Apparatus consists of following
A single unit comprises of heating chamber and control console. Internal dimension of chamber are 48" x 22" x 18". Chamber fabricated in stainless steel sheet with perforated trays. Coil type heaters are placed around the chamber. Temperature controlled by Digital Controller PID with RTD sensor with load & line indicator. Assembled in mild steel cabinet painted with attractive powder coated paint, fine fiber glass wool is used as heat insulator between the chamber and cabinet.
It comprises of following items
Tube Furnace Temperature controlled by programmable PID Digital Temperature indicator cum controller. Equipped with canthal A-1 heating element of 7.5Amp. Single phase 220/240 v AC. Painted with heat resistant enamel. Dimensions confirm to IEC 754 Pt-1 1994.
AIR GENERATOR Constant supply of air is generated by specifically designed unit based on rubber balloon suction and compression principle through electromagnet. Single phase 220/240 v AC.
AIR FLOW CONTROL PANAL Air Flow is controlled by flow-meter of range 100 to 600 c.c. Flow- meters with rotary knob is mounted on Acrylic board panel. Inlet and outlet of Flow-meter lies on rear side (make- FITZER/EIL./Vaksler) confirm to IEC-754 (Pt-1)1994.
Manufactured by A-1 class quartz glass with grinded joints to enable firm grip. Boat transfer unit contains constantan/platinum wire with U-type magnet. One quartz boat is provided. All dimensions confirms to IEC 754 (Pt-1)1994.
TRAP BOTTELS & MAGNETIC STIRRER
Two trap bottles joining each other by ball and socket joints. One of which joining to combustion tube directly by grinded joint another bottle confined with glass stopper one magnetic stirrer is provided with Teflon coated metallic knob which is dropped inside the first trap bottle to give swifling motion to the liquid when magnetic stirrer is putting ON. Attractive acrylic stand is provided to hold these two trap bottles against the furnace. Overall apparatus confirms to IEC-754 (Pt-1) 1994.
The outer body is made of mild steel sheet. The inner chamber is made of Stainless steel and heaters are clamped to its outside wall and operated at low heat. Glass wood insulations is used between the two walls. Temperature control is provided by a P.I.D Controller with PT - 100 sensor having excellent durability and accuracy. The oven is fitted with a digital vacuum gauge readable in MILIBAR SCALE.
An inlet is provided for application involving the use of an inert gast. The inlet can be closed when gas is not used. Mains on and Heaters on indicating lamps are provided. Electrically Operated at 230 V AC, Single Phase, 50 Hz supply.
